Breaking free

Whether it was walking out of ED, jumping a fence, slipping out behind a loved one, never coming back from leave or another such great escape… People should be commended on their knowledge that they were in a place they felt they didn’t need to be. The steps people take to honour their personal freedom in the face of institutions restricting their liberties should be celebrated.

It is no mean feat to have the courage to abscond, this site exists so that these acts of skill and gusto do not go unnoticed.

What this site does

This site is an opportunity to honour people’s efforts in absconding from confinement. When we say honour, we mean we would like to literally award people for these endeavors! If you or someone you know has ever escaped or attempted to escape from a locked environment, where you were being held against your will, we would like to send you a small something to commemorate this special act. Please submit a form below so we know where to send this to.

We are also interested in (if you would like to share) the stories behind these adventures. If you would like to share a story please fill out the form below and we will upload it to the archive.

“How did I escape? With difficulty. How did I plan this moment? With pleasure.”
